Alexander Technique

Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869-1955) discovered we live in almost complete ignorance of the way we use our body. Stress and anxiety tighten our muscles unnecessarily and interfere with our natural functioning. We unconsciously misuse ourselves, generating habitual patterns which may adversely affect our well being.

Alexander Technique lessons change habitual misuse by teaching us how to use the body with freedom and ease. Lessons involve gentle hands-on guidance in simple everyday movements, along with verbal instruction. The client remains fully clothed.

Treatment Time - First lesson 1 hour

Subsequent lessons - 45 minutes

Because you are transforming habits of a lifetime, a course of lessons is recommended. Twenty to thirty are ideal, and ten are a good foundation - however you are welcome to try one or a few lessons to see if it is right for you. Group workshops and courses also available for organisations.
