Voice Coaching and Singing Tuition

Do you find that your voice tires easily or feels strained? Do you feel that you are not speaking or singing to your full potential? Do you feel an urge to express yourself freely through sound?

Our voices often do not truly express who we are, due to lack of confidence or physical or emotional tension. When we speak we may feel vocal strain, shortness of breath or neck tension. If we sing we may find it difficult to project our voice and let the sound freely resonate. Through voice coaching you can learn to overcome these hurdles.

In individual lessons you are guided through a process of letting your body fully support your voice. Using the Alexander Technique the teacher helps you let go of tension and come back to a natural relationship with your body. As a result breathing improves and you find your own unique sound, coming from an authentic place.

You will also be guided through exercises to help with diction, articulation, pitch and tone to create clarity and colour in your speaking voice. As you express yourself more freely you will feel more whole, confident and connected with yourself and the world around you. I also work with presentation skills to develop confidence in public speaking.

In singing lessons you will learn to gain confidence with your singing voice, using similar breath and tone exercises as in voice work. If you are new to singing you will learn to pitch your voice accurately, harmonise and sing songs with freedom and confidence. If you are an experienced singer you can learn to enhance your sound and stage presence, and find your authentic voice.

Because you are learning new skills, a course of 10 lessons is recommended. However you are welcome to try one or a few lessons to see if it is right for you.
